Reddit wants its former law firm disqualified from representing Perplexity in a major AI data-scraping case.

Its argument is unusually blunt:

Proskauer Rose allegedly “dropped Reddit like a hot potato” after previously representing the company in a separate whistleblower matter.

Reddit says that history creates a conflict.

It also claims the firm had previously said it wouldn’t represent Perplexity.

Proskauer denies both points and says Perplexity should be allowed to keep its chosen counsel.

It’s a reminder that a lateral change in clients can turn into a litigation issue all its own.
